The shop will host the 4th annual Lower Hudson Valley Craft Beer Festival-a festival they founded-that will feature over 60 breweries, including local names like Defiant Brewery in Pearl River and Captain Lawrence in Elmsford.
"It kind of brings all the players in the craft beer community together," Growler & Gill co-owner Mike Fitzgerald said, from the breweries to the beer distributors, and of course the customers.
What sets the LHVCBF apart from other festivals is the intimacy that comes along with it: most of the people in attendance are already customers, Fitzgerald said.
"Our customers are kind of waiting for it all year. It's not necessarily strangers coming to this festival, it's friends," he said.
Fitzgerald said a wide variety of pilsners, lagers, and wheat beers will be available for those new to the craft beer scene while the hour-long VIP session, which costs extra, allows beer aficionados the chance to try some exclusive brews.
Tickets are available online or at Growler & Gill in Nanuet. Those wishing to attend must be 21 years of age or older.
