Students At HS On Long Island Forced To Wait Outside As Police Scour High School For Bombs Police on Long Island say the bomb threat made against a high school was a hoax.  Kellenberg Memorial High School, at 1400 Glenn Curtiss Blvd., in Uniondale was alerted to the call just after 7 a.m., Nassau County authorities said.  The call was made anonymously to the 988 Lifeline, a suicide and crisis hotline. The caller claimed to have planted bombs around the school grounds.  Police and Homeland Security agents had teachers and students wait outside until they deemed the area safe.  Officers are investigating who made the call.

17-Year-Old Long Island Boy Killed In Crash Police are investigating a single-vehicle Long Island crash that claimed the life of a teen. It happened around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1 in Uniondale. A 17-year-old boy was riding a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard near the Cradle of Aviation Museum when he hit a curb and was thrown from the vehicle, as reported by Nassau County Police. The boy suffered major injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician.  His name has not yet been released. No other injuries were reported.
