265 New Zero-Emission Buses To Join MTA's Fleet In NY: '100 Percent Clean Energy' The MTA is charging ahead in its commitment to sustainability with the purchase of 265 zero-emission buses set to operate on routes across New York City, officials announced. In an announcement on Friday, Jan. 10, the agency revealed the purchases, which will build on the existing fleet of 60 electric buses and an additional 205 slated to arrive later this year. Pedestrian Killed By LIRR Train, MTA Says Pedestrian Killed By LIRR Train, MTA Says
Pedestrian Killed By Lirr Train, MTA Says A Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train struck and killed a pedestrian late Saturday night, Dec. 28 near the Mastic Shirley station, an MTA spokesperson confirmed. The incident happened at approximately 11:10 p.m. between the William Floyd Parkway crossing and the station. Both MTA and local police were dispatched to the scene. Authorities have not yet determined why the individual was on the tracks. The investigation remains ongoing, the spokesperson said. The incident caused delays on the Montauk Branch, but service has since resumed.

The longtime Hudson Valley radio host and voiceover artist, whose voice guided MTA commuters for decades, died Sunday, Nov. 3, at a Dutchess County hospice center in Poughkeepsie. 'Irate' Passenger Exposes Himself To Girls, Man Aboard Long Island Bus, Police Say A man is facing multiple charges after allegedly exposing himself to two minors on a Long Island bus. The incident happened in Cedarhurst, on an MTA bus that was traveling near Rockaway Turnpike and Rugby Road, at around 9:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19. Nassau County Police said a 30-year-old man and two girls, ages 17 and 7, were riding on the bus when another passenger “became irate,” pulled his pants down, and exposed himself to the victims.
