Impaired Driver Charged After Fatal Crash In Region, Police Say A tractor-trailer driver was killed in the Capital Region after crashing into the back of another truck in which the driver was charged with DWI/ impaired by drugs. The crash occurred in Schenectady County at 10:15 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, on I-90 in Rotterdam. Head-On Crash: Pair Of 11-Year-Olds Injured In Region Two 11-year-olds on were injured in a head-on crash in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 3:20 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, on Sunny Ridge Road in New Hempstead. According to Ramapo Police Lt. Thomas Dolan, officers responding to the crash found the two injured children who were riding a miniature dirt bike on the roadway.  An investigation found the two were driving the dirt bike westbound, on the wrong side of the road, when they struck a moving vehicle head-on, Dolan said. Crash Slows Traffic On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway A collision involving a truck impacted traffic on a busy route in the Hudson Valley. The crash happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, July 17, when vehicles collided on Route 9 near the entrance of The Bird & Bottle Inn, according to the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company. Arriving first responders found the drivers out of their vehicles and stayed at the scene to control traffic and clean debris. The vehicles involved in the crash, including a truck, were later towed away.
