Man Attacked, Killed By Dogs In Region
Police in the Capital District are investigating after a man was mauled and killed by a pack of dogs.
The incident occurred in Albany around 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the 500 block of Central Avenue.
According to Albany Police, officers responded to reports of a man being attacked by several dogs. Upon arrival, they found the dogs fatally attacking the man, and in an attempt to stop the attack, one of the responding officers discharged his duty weapon, striking at least one dog.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Ulster County resident Joseph Karolys, age 39, of Saugerties, was sentenced to 25 years on Thursday, Oct. 3, for the Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, killing of David "Mickey" Myer, also of Saugerties, said Ulster County District Attorney Emmanuel C. Nneji.

Woman, 25, Killed After Car Rolls Over Several Times On NY Thruway

A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash after her car rolled multiple times on the Adirondack Northway.
The collision occurred in Saratoga County around 4:50 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, on the Northway north of the Exit 14 off-ramp in Saratoga Springs.
According to New York State Police Trooper Stephanie O'Neil, the crash caused one of the vehicles to overturn and killed the driver, identified as Makenzie T. Minkler, age 25, of Rensselaer.
