Authorities caught a trucking company illegally dumping contaminated construction debris, including lead materials, at an Orange County farm, officials announced. The incident happened on Thursday, Jan. 9, when a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation officer saw a tri-axle dump truck unloading material at the back of a farm in the town of Montgomery. Federal regulators are warning that a convertible crib sold on Amazon has several serious safety risks to babies, officials said. The Consumer Product Safety Commission warned that the Hermixa 6-in-1 Convertible Crib violates multiple federal safety standards, the federal agency said in a news release on Thursday, Jan. 30. A crash involving a vehicle that hit a Hudson Valley porch caused injuries. The incident happened on Wednesday, Jan. 29 in Rockland County, when two cars collided in the area of Hybrid Lane and Hanes Lane in Monsey, according to The Monsey Scoop. Health officials are working to contain an outbreak of bird flu at a Hudson Valley farm, the second such outbreak in New York this month. The disease – highly pathogenic avian influenza, H5N1, or bird flu – was confirmed at a farm within Ulster County, the county health department confirmed to Daily Voice.
