Driver Airlifted After Crashing Into School Bus In Region The driver of a minivan was airlifted following a crash with a full-size school bus in the region. The collision occurred in Sullivan County around 8:30 a.m., Monday, May 20, on Route 52 in Jeffersonville. According to Undersheriff Eric Chaboty of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, deputies found a full-size school bus that had been traveling westbound when it was struck by a minivan traveling east.  Chaboty said an investigation at the scene indicated the minivan crossed the double yellow line into the path of the bus causing the collision.  Sullivan County Sheriff's Offic…

Families Displaced After Three-Alarm Fire Breaks Out In Sullivan County Apartment Complex Several families have been displaced after a three-alarm fire broke out at an area housing complex. The fire in Sullivan County happened in the town of Liberty. at the Beaumont Estates apartment complex off Route 52 started early Friday morning, Aug. 20, according to the Liberty Fire Department.  The Liberty Department was assisted by the White Sulphur Springs Fire Department, Swan Lake Hose Co. #1, Youngsville Fire Department, Loch Sheldrake Fire Co. #1 and the Kauneonga Lake Fire Department.  More information is expected to be released.
