Hudson Valley Sheriff's Employee Shoots, Kills Self At Work, Police Say An employee of a sheriff's office in the region died by suicide, according to authorities. The incident occurred in Ulster County around 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center in Kingston. According to Capt. Joseph Sciutto of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, the employee was located in the center with a a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Members of the Sheriff's Office attempted to provide emergency aid to the employee who was transported to the Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston, where the person died from the injuries, Sciutto said. Imposter Gains Access To Law Enforcement Center In Hudson Valley, Police Say A man from the region has been arrested for allegedly attempting to gain access to an area law enforcement center. Detectives and deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office arrested Josue Gonzalez, age 35, of Kingston on Friday, Jan. 28, after he attempted to enter the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center and attempted to access a secure area. A foot chase ensued, during which Gonzalez kicked a deputy in the chest, causing the deputy's body camera to break. Teen Arrested For Stabbing His Father In Hudson Valley, Police Say A teenager was taken into police custody after allegedly stabbing his father during a domestic dispute in the Hudson Valley, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office announced. Detectives from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said that a 17-year-old from Port Ewen has been arrested for a felony count of first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, following an incident over the weekend.
