Person On Tracks Hit By Train In Hudson Valley, Officials Say
An MTA train hit a person on the tracks, causing a serious leg wound. According to the MTA, the incident took place around 11:35 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9, when the southbound Croton-Harmon-bound train struck the person at the Breakneck Ridge station in Fishkill in Dutchess County. The person struck was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center with a reported leg injury. Hudson Line service was initially suspended between Cold Spring and Beacon. This story has been updated with corrected information from authorities. A person was killed after being struck by a Metro-North train in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place around 3:45 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, in Dutchess County approximately half a mile south of the Pawling station, said MTA officials. The victim, now identified as a 36-year-old man from Pawling. was pronounced dead at the scene, they added. This story has been updated. A Honda Civic with four people inside was hit by a train in the Hudson Valley, causing delays of more than an hour on Metro-North service in the area. The incident took place around 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, at the Hudson Avenue crossing in Peekskill, said Lt. Jack Galusha with the Peekskill Police. Rockland County Man Struck, Killed By Train Along Jersey Shore
A 54-year-old Rockland County man was struck and killed by a train along the Jersey Shore Monday, rail officials said. The North Jersey Coast Line train struck Stephen B. Mangold, of Bardonia, near 11th Avenue and Main Street in Neptune around 11:50 a.m., NJ.com said citing an NJ Transit spokeswoman. There were 60 passengers aboard the train at the time of the incident, and service was suspended between Bay Head and Long Branch for approximately one hour.

Person Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train
A person was killed after being struck by a Metro-North train overnight. The incident happened in Westchester County shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, just south of the Port Chester station, near the Kohl's Shopping Center. After trains were initially held at the scene, New Haven Line customers experienced delays of 45 to 50 minutes, according to Metro-North. Man, Dog Struck, Killed By Train In Area
An oncoming train killed a man and his dog in the area, police said. The two were both found dead in Orange County on the train tracks in the area of South Water Street and Renwick Street by City of Newburgh police at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6. A tractor-trailer was struck by a train after becoming stuck on the tracks in Sloatsburg. A 19-year-old woman escaped serious injury after her SUV was hit by a train in the area. The crash took place around 11:57 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the Forester Avenue crossing in the Village of Warwick, said the Warwick Fire Department on Facebook. Teen Dies After Being Hit By Metro-North Train In Westchester
The 16-year-old boy who was struck by a Metro-North train in Westchester has died, according to MTA officials. The incident took place at the Pelham station around 5:45 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, when the teen was struck, said Aaron Donovan, spokesman for Metro-North. The teen was rushed alive by emergency personnel to an area hospital where he later died, Donovan said. Man Airlifted To Westchester Medical Center After Being Hit By Metro-North Train
A man received serious injuries to his leg after being struck by a work train heading north to Poughkeepsie. The incident took place around 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, near the Metro-North Breakneck Ridge Station, said Meredith Daniels, a spokeswoman for the MTA. When police and first responders arrived on the scene they found the man had sustained leg injuries and he was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, Daniels said. Trains on the Hudson Line were delayed 15 to 20 minutes as a result of the incident. The MTA police are investigating the incident.
