One Killed In Head-On Crash On Hudson Valley Roadway, State Police Say
Police are investigating a fatal head-on crash on a busy roadway in the region.
It happened at around 10:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25 in Orange County on Route 211 in the Town of Wallkill.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 1996 Ford Ranger was traveling eastbound and a 2007 Scion TC traveling west on 211 were involved, state police said.
The operator of the Scion, Orange County resident Victor L. Hernandez, age 56, from the city of Middletown was pronounced dead at the scene, said police.

Raging Fire Displaces Two Area Families One Day After Christmas
Two families were left homeless one day after Christmas due to a raging house fire.
The fire took place around 2:32 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 26 in Orange County at 118 Plains Road in Walden.
The first responding Walden units, along with the Coldenham and Wallkill Fire departments, found heavy fire showing from the front of a two-story two-family home, said the Walden Fire Department.

Man Charged With Aggravated DWI In Area Twice In Three Days, State Police Say
A man involved in a hit-and-run crash and police chase was charged with aggravated DWI twice in the span of three days in the area, state police said.
On Monday, Oct. 5 at approximately 1:10 p.m., State Police Middletown responded to Garnet Health in the town of Wallkill for a report of a hit-and-run in the parking lot.
The vehicle was observed to be traveling on East Main Street in Wallkill.

Area police are on the hunt for two armed robbery suspects, after catching two who robbed a man at gunpoint at his home.The crime took place on Friday, Nov. 23 in the Town of Montgomery when the four confronted the victim at his home, struck him in the face and stole more than $3,000 in cash, said the Town of Montgomery police.
