Hudson Valley Political Consultant Nabbed For Grand Larceny, DA Says
A Hudson Valley man has been indicted for alleged grand larceny after stealing more than $7,000 from a political campaign committee.
Rockland County resident Michael Bookman, age 40, from Bardondia, a hamlet of Clarkstown, was charged on Friday, Oct. 13, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh.
In addition to grand larceny, Bookman was also charged with falsifying business records and issuing a bad check, the DA's Office said.

Two rabbis who pleaded guilty to a fatal fire at an adult home in the Hudson Valley have escaped jail time through a plea deal.
Rockland County residents Nathaniel Sommer, age 72, of Monsey, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, June 20 to two counts of second-degree manslaughter and is expected to be sentenced to five years probation, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh.
His son, Aaron Sommer, age 29, also of Monsey, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree reckless endangerment, which carries a sentence of three years probation, Walsh added.

A Hudson Valley man has been indicted for the alleged rape and sexual abuse of a 7-year-old girl.
Ottoniel Gomez-Martinez, age 42, of Ramapo, was charged on Thursday, Feb. 9, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh.
On Thursday, Feb. 2, Gomez-Martinez is alleged to have sexually abused and raped a 7- year-old female in his home, Walsh said.

A Hudson Valley man will spend up to five years in state prison for the shooting death of another man.
Rockland County resident Collyer Goodman, age 20, of Valley Cottage, was sentenced on Thursday, Feb. 17, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh.
Goodman, who had pleaded guilty to the charges of manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, was 18 years old at the time he killed Darien Brydie, age 21, of Country Club Hills, Illinois in August 2020 in the village of Nyack, officials said.

Rockland County resident Anthony Frascone, age 51, of Congers, and owner of Alpha-Omega, was indicted by a Rockland County grand jury on Friday, Jan. 14, for two counts of grand larceny and insurance fraud, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh.

Jason Jabouin, age 35, was sentenced on Monday, Nov. 29, to one count of manslaughter in connection with the killing of Ryan Franklin, of West Haverstraw on Friday, May 22, 2020, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh.
