A return of more humid air will fuel a new round of thunderstorms after a days-long stretch of dry, comfortable weather.The timing for the storm system is from late in the afternoon into the evening on Monday, Aug. 26. It will remain precipitation free through the weekend. The mercury will get higher on Saturday, Aug. 24, and Sunday, Aug. 25, with temps in the mid-80s, and mainly sunny skies both days, the National Weather Service says. Line Of Severe Storms Moving Through With Heavy Rain Causing Flooding In Parts Of Region
A line of storms is now moving across the region from west to east, producing drenching downpours that are flooding some areas. A radar image of the region above, from just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, shows severe storms marked in red. "Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations," the National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook statement issued Tuesday.
