Two Cats Die, Two Others Rescued After House Fire Breaks Out In Rockland Two cats were killed, and another two saved after a house fire that left a family homeless in Rockland County.  The fire started around 5:20 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 192 Strawtown Road, in New City, said Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters. First responding police and firefighters from the New City Fire Department, found the single-family home was engulfed in flames, Peters said.  The two adult residents were located outside the home, uninjured as officers arrived. Suspects In Maserati Ram Clarkstown PD Cruiser During Escape Attempt, Police Say A man allegedly involved in stealing high-end vehicles rammed a Clarkstown patrol vehicle with a dark-colored Maserati sedan in an effort to escape. The incident took place around 3 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, after the department received multiple calls regarding high-end vehicle thefts and attempted thefts in the New City area, Clarkstown Police said. When officers responded to the area, they spotted the Maserati on Strawtown Road with people inside.
