The incident occurred at 60 Gove St. in the City of Newburgh at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, December 12. According to Mike Neppl, chief of staff for the City of Newburgh, the seat of the fire was located in the basement of the home, with fire traveling in the heating system ductwork to the upper floors. Car Engulfed In Flames On Parkway In Hudson Valley A vehicle fire prompted an early morning response on the Taconic State Parkway. The blaze happened on Saturday, Oct. 19 around 8:30 a.m. in Northern Westchester, when an SUV caught on fire on the southbound side in Hawthorne. Arriving fire crews soon found the vehicle consumed by flames and quickly hosed it down, putting the blaze out completely.  The response took around an hour and sent plumes of smoke up into the air on the parkway, as seen in images of the fire released on the Hawthorne Fire Department's social media page.  No injuries were reported.

ID Released For Man Killed On Snowmobile In Area A man killed during a snowmobile crash in the area has been identified by New York State Police. David White, 34, of Campbell Hall, was killed at 10:20 a.m., Monday, Dec. 2, after crashing a snowmobile into a tree on Quarry Road in Campbell Hall in Orange County, said Trooper Steven Nevel. When police arrived on the scene they found White near the sled, Nevel said. An investigation revealed that White lost control of the snowmobile and struck a tree and was ejected.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Nevel said White was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
