Police: Eighth-Grader Stabs Rutherford Principal With Folding Knife At Graduation Practice
A 14-year-old Rutherford eighth-grader stabbed a school principal several times in the chest with a folding knife during graduation practice Friday afternoon before throwing his hands up in surrender, police said. Union School Principal Kurt Schweitzer was treated for injuries that weren't life-threatening, Lt. Marc A. Amatucci said. Authorities found a missing at-risk Rutherford man early Monday in Port Chester, 45 miles from home. John Willey, 60, apparently was intent on visiting a friend in White Plains when he walked off from his West Passaic Avenue home around 5:30 p.m. Saturday without his cellphone, police said.
