Person Struck, Killed By Train In Hudson Valley
A person standing on the train tracks in the Hudson Valley was hit and killed by a southbound Amtrak train. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 1;15 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5 just south of Rhinecliff in Hyde Park, said Jason Abrams, a spokesman for Amtrak. There have been no reported injuries to the 237 passengers or crew onboard, Abrams said. The identity of the person killed has not been released by officials at this time. Tolls To Rise In Just Days On These Bridges In Hudson Valley
Higher toll rates are heading to several New York bridges in the region. According to the New York State Bridge Authority, as part of a four-year plan that began in 2020, the third of four rate hikes is set to take effect as of Sunday, May 1 in the Hudson Valley. Man Struck, Killed While Walking On Tracks In Area, Police Say
A 92-year-old man who was walking on the tracks is dead after being struck by a train in the area, state police said. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on the Amtrak line between the Rhinecliff and Staatsburg stations around 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25. A state police investigation revealed that An V. Tran of Poughkeepsie was struck and killed by a southbound Amtrak train. Anti-Terror Training Underway On Metro-North, Amtrak Lines In Westchester
Fear not, Metro-North and Amtrak riders, it's just a drill. A commuter alert was put in effect on Wednesday morning for Metro-North and Amtrak riders, as law enforcement agencies conduct anti-terror training activities at many stations in the area.
