A Pennsylvania man who robbed an Orange County, NY gas station while showing what at first appeared to be a handgun will spend years in prison, prosecutors announced.
Connor Derrick, 21, of Archbald, Pennsylvania, was sentenced Friday, May 15, in Orange County Court to seven years in prison after previously pleading guilty to second-degree robbery, according to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.

A 19-year-old man who allegedly broke into a shuttered prison in Dutchess County ended up trapped in a cell and had to be rescued before being arrested, state police said.

Matthew Maurer, 38, of Catskill, was re-arrested Tuesday, June 10, following a months-long New York State Police investigation into reported materials depicting child sexual exploitation.

That’s what Maryrose Fealey told her mother, Janet Pizzelli, on Jan. 30, 2024, the day before Pizzelli was set to begin chemotherapy for breast cancer.

A movie based on a theater program at a maximum security prison in the Hudson Valley is making history by becoming the first film to be screened in prisons across the country, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.
"Sing Sing," based on the Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in the Northern Westchester village of Ossining, will again be released in theaters on Friday, Jan. 17. A Hudson Valley man and woman have pleaded guilty to murder and manslaughter in connection with the strangling death of the man's grandfather.
