A 24-year-old Warwick woman was killed when her car veered across the double-yellow line and slammed head-on into a minivan just across the New Jersey border early Tuesday, authorities said. The driver of the northbound 2011 Volkswagen Routan -- a 42-year-old Springfield, MA man -- and four of his passengers were taken to local hospitals with moderate injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, Oakland Police Lt. Rogue Rockland Moving Companies Fined
Two unlicensed moving companies from Rockland were snagged in a New Jersey undercover sting that cost them $2,500 each, authorities announced Monday. Big Men in Trucks from Sloatsburg and Enterprise Van Lines from Congers each has the option of seeking mitigation or requesting an administrative hearing to contest the violation and civil penalty, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. 3 Charged With Shoplifting From Fair Lawn CVS All Had Arrest Warrants, Police Say
Three people arrested on shoplifting charges at the Fair Lawn CVS on the same day were all wanted by police on warrants. The first incident took place on July 4 when Fair Lawn Police responded to the CVS at 18-35 River Road for a report of two men who had fled the store without paying for items, said Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Brian Metzler. Wildlife Expert IDs Mystery Skeleton Found By Hackensack Man In River
A mysterious skeleton found Saturday by a Hackensack man in the Pequannock River has been identified by wildlife experts as a deer. Michael Rawlins, originally of Elmwood Park, was out for a hike in Pompton Lakes when he saw the bones floating in the river. Hackensack Riverkeeper Captain Bill Sheehan was able to identify it by its teeth. "You can clearly see the grinding teeth, which are like molars for dogs or humans," Sheehan told Daily Voice.
