Police Standoff Ends Peacefully When Woman Surrenders In Ulster County A woman from the region held police at bay for more than 90 minutes after she allegedly displayed a weapon at an area apartment complex. The incident took place around 9:30 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 9, when the Ulster Police Department responded to a 911 call for a woman displaying a weapon at the complex on Neighborhood Road in Ulster. Man With Shotgun Takes His Own Life In Area, Police Say A man is dead after taking his own life following a police-involved incident in the area. At about 10:25 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, in Putnam County, the town of Kent Ambulance along with the EmStar medic were dispatched to Pudding Street in the Town of Putnam Valley for a male with chest pain, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said.
