Hudson Valley Man Flushed Victim's Dentures Down Toilet, Broke Their Glasses, Cops Say
A Hudson Valley man is facing charges after his alleged bizarre behavior during a domestic dispute. In Ulster County, Saugerties Police were called at around 5 a.m. Thursday, July 21, with reports of an altercation at a home on Partition Street. Officers determined that at some point during the dispute, Robert Amirault, age 45, had destroyed the victim’s dentures by flushing them down a toilet and broke a pair of the victim’s reading glasses, police said. Man Nabbed For Driving While High On Drugs In Area, Police Say
A 64-year-old man was arrested for allegedly driving while high on drugs after being stopped for driving erratically. Ulster County resident Todd Kuriplach, of Saugerties, was arrested around 10:50 a.m., Sunday, March 7, after Saugerties Police received a complaint of an erratic driver on Route 9W in Saugerties, said Chief Joseph A. Sinagra. When officers responded, they spotted a vehicle driven by Kuriplach weaving across both lanes of traffic, Sinagra said. A pair of popular Hudson Valley eateries will be temporarily shuttering their doors following confirmed cases of COVID-19 in employees. The owners of Miss Lucy’s on Partition Street in Saugerties issued an alert this week to patrons advising that there was a positive case in a staff member, prompting them to shut their doors off for the time being. A drunk man continued the decade-long tradition of destroying street artwork used for a yearly Chamber of Commerce initiative, resulting in a felony charge, police said. Ulster County resident Vincent DeBellis, 43, was witnessed ripping the tye-dyed wings off of a fiberglass butterfly decked out for the Chamber's "Fluttering Around Saugerties" event at nearly 2 a.m. on Aug. 17 outside of the Pig Bar on Partition Street. A former restaurateur who owned a pair eateries in the Hudson Valley is facing charges for allegedly raping a minor. An Ulster County grand jury charged Robert Bruno, 58, of Newburgh, in a seven-count indictment for allegedly repeatedly sexually abusing at least one minor, the DA’s Office announced. It is unclear how many victims he had. Specifically, Bruno is charged with three counts of second-degree rape, and two counts each of third-degree rape and second-degree criminal sexual act. An intoxicated woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after police allegedly found her in the middle of a roadway acting out and blocking traffic. The incident took place in Ulster County around 11:23 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, when Saugerties Police responded to Partition Street for a reported assault at Mirabella’s Restaurant, said Saugerties Chief Joseph Sinagra.
