A Paramus police officer's vehicle was struck by a 21-year-old New York man leading a pursuit out of Waldwick early Monday, Oct. 7, authorities said. Waldwick Officer Chris Sanchez saw a man later identified as Orange County, NY resident Jaoine Ford, of Chester, speeding in a 2023 Ford Escape on Route 17 south at 12:23 a.m., Waldwick Lt. The manager of a Paramus auto dealership abducted a drunken woman from a local restaurant and raped her in Bergen County and Ramapo, authorities charged Friday. Carlos Belaunde Jr., 25, who works at Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Paramus on Route 4, remained held in the Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping, records show. A multi-county pursuit of two men in a U-Haul who had allegedly ripped off several TVs from a Walmart in the Hudson Valley ended with one nabbed by state police and the other by New Jersey police. The wild incident began around 9 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, when New York State troopers from the Catskill barracks responded to a call to assist the Catskill Police Department with a larceny complaint, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Two Brooklyn men were captured and charged with four Kay Jewelers burglaries and one at Nordstrom in Paramus that netted more than $250,000 in valuables, ending a nine-month spree that authorities said stretched from Central Jersey to Albany. Paramus and NYPD detectives teamed up to nab Gerald Williams, 45, and Tony Newton, 56, ending a spree that they said began in January. Hackensack Man Charged With Threatening To 'Murder' Police In 19+ Towns
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A private building custodian from Hackensack called no fewer than 19 municipal police departments threatening to "murder" officers, said authorities who arrested him. PARAMUS, N.J. -- Nicholas Anzalone of Paramus died on Jan. 28. He was 27 years old. Nicholas, formerly of Lodi, was a member of Spring Valley Fire Co. # 2 in Paramus and a parishioner of Annunciation R.C. Church. He is predeceased by grandparents Charles and and Frances Anzalone and Nina Teitz. He is survived by his parents, Dean and RoseMary Anzalone; siblings Katie and Lauren Anzalone; and many aunts and uncles.
