A new tornado just touched down in New York in what has been a historic year for twisters in the state. There have now been 29 tornadoes in New York this year, breaking the record of 25 in 1992. A tornado touched down in the Hudson Valley as post-Tropical Depression Debby swept through the Northeast. The incident happened at 5:52 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, in Ulster County near the New York State Thruway interchange in the town of New Paltz.
