Hudson Valley Man Armed With Knife Holds Police At Bay For 5 Hours An attempt to serve an arrest warrant in the region led to a five-hour standoff with law enforcement. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at around 11 a.m. on Monday, July 1, on Route 44 in Pleasant Valley. According to Capt. Teen Charged After Making Shooting Threat To Area High School, Police Say A teenage student has been charged with making a social media threat of a shooting at the high school he attends in the area. Word of the threat in Dutchess County at Franklin D. Roosevelt High School was provided to police around 9:21 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 to the Town of Hyde Park Police, said Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson. The post featured a picture of a bathroom wall at FDR stating there was going to be a shooting at the school the following day.
