Cause Of Death Determined For Westchester Woman Found Dead In Suitcase In Greenwich
The Connecticut state medical examiner released an official cause of death for a Westchester woman found dead in a red suitcase on the side of a road in Fairfield County in February. On Monday, May 6, the state medical examiner said the official cause of death for Valerie Reyes, 24, of New Rochelle, was "homicidal asphyxia," and the manner of death was a homicide. Reyes was found dead, bound and stuffed inside a suitcase in a wooded area of Greenwich on Tuesday, Feb. 5 by Greenwich public works employees. A lawmaker is pushing legislation that would see the Empire State become a sanctuary for illegal immigrants. Democratic State Sen. Man Gets 20-Year Sentence For Enticing Westchester 14-Year-Old Into Sexual Activity On Video
An Orange County man will spend the next two decades in prison for enticing a teenage girl from Westchester into sexual activity, which was captured on video. Clint Edwards, 28, of New Windsor, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for enticing a child to engage in illegal sexual activity. He pleaded guilty to the crime on July 2 this year following the illicit activities last year. Six people were arrested Friday in a Westchester hub of a massive $1 million cell phone fraud scheme uncovered by an ICE task force. The six are part of 12 people busted by ICE and Homeland Security, following a long-term investigation into the scheme that operated a hub out of a Mount Vernon apartment, according to ICE officials. Update: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is holding a twice-deported suspect in a 14-month-old upstate boy's disappearance and his mother's death that prompted an Amber Alert on Friday, May 25. A fellow member of a gang from Rockland was sentenced Wednesday to 65 months in federal prison for his role in carjacking, kidnapping and leaving a local cab driver for dead in Orange County after he and four others robbed a North Jersey bar. Carjacker Admits Smashing Cabbie Dumped In Woodbury With Beer Bottle
A New Jersey man admitted Wednesday that he smashed a cab driver in the head with a beer bottle during a carjacking before accomplices dumped the victim on the Thruway near Woodbury. Arlyn Jowany Carrasco Cruz, 27, of Waldwick and five accomplices carjacked the driver of a 2008 Dodge Caravan in the early morning hours of Dec. 26, 2016, forcing him into the back of the vehicle, Acting U.S. Attorney William E.
