Company Recalls 30K Candles Sold Nationwide Because They May Burn Too Hot, Break Glass Jars
A company has recalled more than 30,000 candles that were sold across the United States because they may burn at higher-than-usual temperatures, causing the jars to break. The recall includes Good Matters three-wick candles that come in a glass tumbler with a wooden lid, officials announced on Thursday, Dec. 15. Officials said the company received four reports of incidents where the candles caught on fire and cracked or broke apart while in use. Three Departments Stores Sold Recalled Products, Schumer Says In Call For Federal Probe
New York Sen. Chuck Schumer is calling out some of the nation’s biggest department stores, claiming that recalled items may be under some consumers’ Christmas trees this holiday season. Schumer says he's asking for a federal inquiry into items that were subject to recall but still sold at TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods locations nationwide. Shoppers who love a bargain, especially on high-quality food, will want to head to the new Aldi's grocery which has thrown open its doors in Nanuet. Located in the long-vacant site of the former Pathmark Store in Rockland Center, at 43 E. Route 59, in Nanuet, the German-based grocer celebrated its opening day Thursday, Oct. 10 by giving away gift cards to 100 lucky customers. Five Accused Of Stealing Over $500K From Westchester Stores In Retail Fraud Ring
Five people are in police custody and are facing charges for their alleged roles in a retail fraud operation that stole more than $500,000 in merchandise from Westchester County stores. Over the course of nearly six months, officials said that the group of five suspects allegedly used a machine to make fake credit cards for stores such as Marshalls and HomeGoods.
