$50K Powerball Ticket Sold In Hudson Valley
It's not just another day for one lucky Hudson Valley Powerball player who walked away with a $50,000 third prize. A New York Lottery spokesman said five tickets won the third-place prize including one in Orange County in Newburgh. The winning numbers for the Wednesday, Jan. 18 Powerball are 6-15-22-42-47 and the Powerball is 26. The winning ticket, which matched four of the five numbers and the Powerball, was purchased at the Smokes for Less store on Plank Road in Newburgh. No word yet on who the winner is. Man Indicted For Christmas Day Shooting Of Mother, Father In NY Mansion
A man who allegedly shot his mother and father in their Long Island mansion on Christmas Day in a dispute over his child has been arraigned on attempted murder charges. Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly announced Dino Tomassetti, age 30, of Brooklyn, was arraigned Monday, Feb. 7, on two counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault, among other charges. Tomassetti pleaded not guilty and was remanded to jail. He is due back in court on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Trader Joe's has temporarily closed several more stores for cleaning after workers were diagnosed with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The closures include two stores on Long Island and one in Fairfield County. The Long Island stores are: Hewlett, 1280 West Broadway: A crew member reporting symptoms consistent with COVID-19 was last present in the store on Wednesday, April 1, the company said.
