Fairway Market Files For Bankruptcy, Plans To Sell Its Stores
Fairway Market has announced it is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will sell up to five of its stores to ShopRite before selling its remaining 13 locations. Fairway has markets in New York City, Long Island, Westchester and Fairfield counties. Fairway Market Store In Area Will Close
The rumor is true, a Fairway Market store in the area is closing its doors. Area shoppers had wondered for weeks if the store, located at the Shops at Nanuet, was closing after fewer items filled the shelves and rumors circulated on various Facebook pages. Westchester-Based Wholesaler Recalls Thousands Of Pounds Of Fruit Due To Listeria Scare
A Westchester-based company has announced a massive recall of fruit that was distributed to several major retailers and department stores due to a listeria scare. Jac. Vanderberg, a fruit distributor located in Yonkers, has issued a recall of 1,727 cartons of fresh peaches, 1,207 cartons of fresh nectarines and 365 cartons of fresh plums because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
