ID Released For Man Killed In Crash That Shut Down I-84 For More Than 10 Hours
The identity of the man killed in an early morning crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer and a car that shut down a stretch of I-84 for more than 10 hours on Monday has been released. The closure occurred on eastbound I-84 at Exit 17 (Ludingtonville Road/Route 43) in Kent. At approximately 3:48 a.m., a 2015 Volvo tractor-trailer operated by 36-year-old Sergio Khundiashvili of Brooklyn was traveling in the left lane when the trailer struck the median guardrail, state police said. Lightning Strike Hospitalizes Three In Area
A lightning strike on Lake Mahopac sent three people out boating to the hospital and slightly injured another. The incident took place around 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 4 when Putnam County Sheriff's Sgt. Matthew Monroe of the department's Marine Patrol Unit responded to a report of an occupied disabled boat on Lake Mahopac, the department said. During heavy rain and frequent lightning strikes Monroe was able to locate the disabled vessel, near the northwest corner of the lake. Silver Alert Issued For Woman Last Seen Traveling On I-84 In Danbury
A woman last seen traveling on I-84 has gone missing and state police are asking the public's help in locating her. A Silver Alert has been issued by Connecticut State Police for 90-year-old Evelyn Sasko, who was last seen on Thursday, June 21 at approximately 10:20 p.m., after leaving Danbury Hospital and traveling I-84 eastbound. Man Sentenced For Fatal Morphine-Impaired Route 22 Crash
A 45-year-old Dutchess County man who was impaired by morphine when he crashed into another vehicle in 2015, killing a Kent woman, has been sentenced to one to three years in prison. Christopher Osborne Jr., 45, of Pawling, pleaded guilty in January to aggravated vehicular homicide for causing the crash that killed 63-year-old Jean Riccobon. Two healthcare giants that serve residents in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut are about to join forces to create a health system that will form a huge system offering services from the Hudson River to Long Island.
