Roadway Reopens After Large Protest This story has been updated. A stretch of I-84 has reopened after hundreds protesting police-related deaths entered the highway. The closure, in both directions, was between exits 4 and 5 in Danbury on Wednesday, June 3 and lasted about an hour, starting just before 2:30 p.m. The protest began on Main Street early in the afternoon with more than 1,000 people. A smaller amount, but still in the hundreds, then proceeded to the interstate. Other protests are planned for this afternoon in Fairfield County in New Canaan and Stamford. Sheriff's deputies responded to the Putnam Diner on Saturday, Feb. 1, on Route 22 in Patterson after receiving a call that a human skull had been found in the woods, said the Sheriff's Office. When deputies arrived, they were met by a 35-year-old Carmel man who told deputies he was walking through the woods when he saw what he believed to be a human skull, the department said. Remains Found Near Route 22 Diner Linked To Woman Who Went Missing A human skull and skeletal remains found by a hunter near an area diner are believed to belong to a woman who went missing in 2017. The remains, which were discovered in Putnam County behind the Putnam Diner on Route 22, in Patterson could be those of Lealcria DeLima, 53, of Danbury. DeLima was last seen on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, leaving home in a 2016 red Honda after telling her two children that she loved them and was going to a local Walmart to pick up a prescription, said Danbury Police at the time. Her car was found by New York State Police in November 2017 behind the diner.…

ID Released For Teen Killed In I-84 Crash A teenager who was killed in a fiery crash on I-84 has been identified. Danbury resident Liam Declan Devine, 17, was driving west on I-84 shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 near Exit 9 in Newtown when he lost control of his vehicle, Connecticut State Police said. Devine traveled through the grass out of control, over an embankment and into a tree. When Devine struck the tree, his vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.
