Matthew Billetts died doing what he loved most: fishing. The Albany-area high school student died Monday, June 13, at the age of 16 after falling into the Hudson River at Hudson Shores Park, according to Watervliet Police. Suspended Suffern Schools Superintendent Douglas Adams is facing new disciplinary charges from the Board of Education following a lengthy meeting last month. Orange County Voters Head To Polls For School Budget Votes
Voters in Orange County will head to the polls to vote on local school budget and bond proposals. More than a billion dollars in spending will be up for a vote on Tuesday, May 21, as voters determine the fate of more than a dozen school district budgets and candidates vying for Board of Education seats. Budget proposals range from $17,186,749 in Livingston Manor to a whopping $282,444,842 in Newburgh. There are also 109 Board of Education candidates vying for just 84 seats countywide.
