Suicidal Man Holding Onto Walkway Over Hudson Railing Pulled To Safety In a dramatic rescue, a distraught man who had climbed over the Walkway Over the Hudson and was dangling over the water clinging to a railing was pulled to safety by City of Poughkeepsie police, and a firefighter. The incident unfolded around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday when City 911 received a call reporting a suicidal male on the walkway, at approximately mid-span, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Det. Lt.
