The New York State Humane Association in Kingston has offered a reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person who murdered a German Shepherd. New York State Police in Columbia County launched an investigation on Thursday, Feb. 6 into the death of a german shepherd that was found shot on Sunday, Feb. 2 on Silvernails Road in Gallatin. Police said the 2-year-old dog was found by a local resident and reported to the Dog Warden Officer who contacted the State Police after noticing a bullet wound on the animal. Two Putnam Residents Arrested For Animal Cruelty
Two people were arrested for alleged animal cruelty after the Putnam County SPCS received a complaint about the condition of two horses on the property where they lived. Patricia Macquignon, 53, and Michaela Macquignon, 24, of Putnam Valley were arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 11, by the Putnam County SPCS following the discovery of the two horses, said SPCA Chief Ken Ross. Wanted Fugitive Indicted For Killing, Burning Pet Dog In Westchester
A 33-year-old fugitive has been indicted for his role in killing a dog whose remains were discovered burned in a backyard last month, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., announced. Ian De Los Reyes was arraigned on Monday, Aug. 12 and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and tampering with physical evidence, both suspects. A Wayne man who brought a dead dog to an animal hospital was arrested Tuesday on cruelty charges, authorities announced. Wayne police responding to Knox Terrace on May 31 were told that Craig J. Lam, 37, took the dog to the Fairfield Animal Emergency Hospital. The officers “were advised by the staff of the Fairfield Animal Emergency Hospital that the dog had arrived deceased,” Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. State Police are investigating an animal cruelty case after two pit bulls were found starved to death with two emaciated cats at a Hudson Valley home. An alleged puppy mill was busted over the weekend after a person who adopted a dog tipped off officials that the puppies were kept in horrible conditions. A farmer has been arrested for allegedly starving and then shooting several horses in the Hudson Valley. Peter DePaolo, 62, the owner of Windy Acres Farm in Greenville, was arrested last week after officials learned of the abuse, said Orange County SPCA Law Enforcement Chief Gene Hecht.
