Woman Nabbed For Heroin Possession, Driving With Suspended License In Area, Police Say A 27-year-old area woman was arrested for alleged possession of heroin and driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop. Mariah Candelario, of Late Katrine, was arrested around 10 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 16, following a stop by an Ulster County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit, said Det. Lt. Abram Markiewicz. An investigation during the stop allegedly found heroin and that Candelario's license had been suspended, police said. Man High On Drugs Crashes Into Storefront In Area, Police Say A 40-year-old man has been charged with DWI/Drugs after crashing his vehicle in a storefront earlier in the week. Orange County resident David A. Bergsma, of Wallkill, was arrested for the crash that took place around 11:40 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11, at the Rite Aid Pharmacy on North Road, in Poughkeepsie, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Michael O'Dowd. Middletown Drug Sweep Targeting Street-Level Dealers Nets 10 New Arrests The Middletown Police Department arrested 10 people in over the past few days in a multi-agency operation aimed at street-level dealers and their suppliers throughout the area. The department made the announcement on Tuesday, at the same time of three additional pending arrests, bringing the total number of individuals to be charged to 13. The operation was conducted by the Middletown police, along with the New York State Police, and the FBI’s Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force. In all, more than 117 grams of cocaine, 244 bags of heroin, and a small amount of marijuana were seized. …
