Worker Killed After Being Struck By Truck At Woodbury Common
An employee at Woodbury Common Shopping Outlet was killed after being hit by a truck. The incident took place Tuesday, Oct. 15, when the worker was attempting to guide a truck into a loading area and was accidentally pinned at the outlet in Woodbury, reported News 12. The worker, Habram Castillo, 40, of New York City, was crushed by a truck delivering goods to the Tory Burch store, the news channel said. The identity of the West Point cadet candidate who was killed in a cliff-diving accident has been released. The incident occurred at about 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 in the Town of Hunter in Greene County, New York. Troopers responded to a 911 call of an unresponsive man at a routinely frequented cliff diving location known as Fawn’s Leap, off Route 23A. The man has now been ID'd as Benjamin K. A 73-year-old New Hempstead woman who was struck and killed in a parking lot in New City has been identified by police. Teresa Estrada-Geranis was hit by a bus in the parking lot of the New Hempstead Presbyterian Church at 484 New Hemstead Road, said Ramapo Police Sgt. Michael Minervini. The incident happened around 2:19 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, when Estrada-Geranis was struck by the bus after leaving a program she attended at that location, which hosts such groups as the Ramapo Senior Center, police said. A 73-year-old New Hempstead woman was struck and killed in a parking lot in New City, said police. The incident happened around 2:19 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 484 New Hempstead Road when the woman was struck by a vehicle after leaving a program she attended at that location, according to Ramapo Police. An 8-year-old girl was killed when a large cabinet at her school fell on top of her, according to New York State Police. Ruchy Friedich was found dead around 2:37 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, when state police responded to a medical emergency in Orange County at the Kiryas Joel Union Free School at 7 Isreal Zupnick Drive, said Trooper Steven Nevel. A 72-year-old man found himself in a dangerous position after accidentally getting pinned against the wall by his car, sending him to the hospital, police said. First responders from the Clarkstown Police Department were dispatched to a Snedecker Avenue home in Congers at approximately 1 p.m. on Monday, June 24, where there was a report of a man pinned by a vehicle inside his garage. Tipped Rig Dumps Load Of Mulch Near Bergen-Rockland Border
A dump truck spilled a load of mulch Monday afternoon near the Bergen-Rockland border, toppling a utility pole, yanking down power lines and spilling fuel. Brookside Auto & Towing sent a heavy-duty wrecker to Rockleigh to right the rig after the Piermont Road mishap. New Milford sent its Hazardous Materials Unit to handle the fuel spill. IDs Released For Husband, Wife Killed In Westchester SUV Crash
Police have released the names of the husband and wife who died after their SUV crashed through a metal guardrail into the Long Island Sound in Westchester. New Rochelle residents Ralph and Arlene Simpson, both 74, drove through the guardrail and into the water at Hudson Park in Echo Bay shortly before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, police said. Jaquan Cesar, a Beacon resident and Poughkeepsie High School graduate, was killed around 1:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at the scene of a multiple-vehicle crash on the expressway near Webster Avenue, said the NYPD. A call for help has been put out to the community following the death of a Town of Ramapo employee who was killed after being struck by a car. Sean Spillman, 28, of Washingtonville, was standing behind a 2014 Ford, which was pulled over on the side of Scotland Hill Road when he and his father Brian Spillman, 61, were hit by a car around noon on Saturday.
