Traffic Alert: Crash Causes Hours-Long I-87 Closure In Region A fuel tank rollover crash has caused heavy delays on a busy stretch of the New York State Thruway. State Police said the crash has all I-87 southbound lanes closed from Exit 21 in Catskill to Ulster County in Saugerties Exit 20 for at least the next six hours. State police said the crash occurred in Ulster County around 3:50 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, near mile marker 105. Hudson Valley Man Busted With Kilo Of Cocaine In Orange County During Traffic Stop, Police Say A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after he was allegedly busted with a kilo of cocaine during a traffic stop. Ulster County resident Anthony Johnson, age 41, of Kingston, was stopped on Thursday, Oct. 10, on I-87 while driving a 2018 Audi Q7 in Orange County in Cornwall. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a probable cause search of the vehicle during the stop by troopers and K9 Moran yielded a kilo of cocaine and $7,739 in cash. Vehicle Catches On Fire On New Tappan Zee Bridge, Impacts Traffic A vehicle fire impacted traffic on the new Tappan Zee Bridge off the shore of Westchester County.  The blaze happened on Thursday, Aug. 22 just before 11 a.m., when a truck caught on fire in the northbound lanes of I-87 on the bridge near the Tarrytown shore, according to the New York State Thruway Authority.  The incident temporarily caused the left lane to be completely blocked.
