Scooter-Riding Burglar Scared Off By Atlantic Beach Homeowner Authorities are asking for tips after a Long Island homeowner scared off a would-be burglar. The attempted break-in occurred in Atlantic Beach, at a residence on Troy Avenue, at around 6 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12.  The homeowner was awoken by a stranger attempting to open an unlocked bedroom window, according to Nassau County Police. When the resident tried confronting them, the intruder fled the scene on a white motorized scooter heading eastbound on Park Street. Nobody was injured in the ordeal. Masked Trio, Including Pair Of Teens, Nabbed In Nassau County Burglary Attempt Three masked suspects, including two teenage boys, were arrested after allegedly attempting to break into a home on Long Island. The incident occurred at 2:55 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, on Ivy Hill Road in Woodsburgh. According to Nassau County Police investigators, four masked individuals tried multiple times to illegally enter the residence, using a crowbar to pry open a rear entrance.  Although they caused significant damage to the property, the group triggered the home’s alarm system and fled on foot. Woman Wanted For Driving Across Lawn On Long Island, Hitting Car, Police Say Police on Long Island are asking the public for help identifying a woman who drove across a lawn and hit a car in the driveway before fleeing.  The incident occurred in Nesconset on Pierson Street around 7:25 p.m. on Sunday, July 28. According to the Suffolk County Police, the unidentified woman drove a blue Hyundai four-door sedan across the home's lawn and hit a 2022 Ford parked in the home's driveway.
