His name is Grant Ellis, and he's a 30-year-old day trader with New Jersey and New York roots. The Houston, Texas resident initially competed on this season of "The Bachelorette" starring Jenn Tran, who grew up in Bergen County. Ellis was eliminated just before Tran picked her final four. Ellis is a Newark native who played basketball for Hudson Catholic, and later at the collegiate level in New York for Iona University in New Rochelle, where he played guard and forward. School Worker Accused Of Abusing Student In Hudson Valley An employee at a school in Northern Westchester County has been accused of abusing a student. New York State Police from the Somers barracks announced on Monday night, Aug. 19, that the alleged incident occurred earlier this month at the Westchester Exceptional Children's School in North Salem. Westchester Toddler Killed After Being Struck By SUV A 3-year-old girl from Westchester was killed after being struck by an SUV while crossing the street in New York City. The incident happened just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 11 in Manhattan at West 135th Street and Lenox Avenue, outside of Harlem Hospital. According to ABC 7, The driver of the Nissan SUV attempted to take the toddler by foot to the hospital, but she was pronounced dead. She has been identified as Jaynelyse Valdez of New Rochelle. IDs Released For Mother, Son Killed In Westchester Fire The identities have been released of two people killed in an apartment fire in Westchester. The blaze broke out at around 6:40 a.m. Friday, June 21 in New Rochelle.
