A 41-year-old man has been charged with rape and sexual abuse of a teen in the region.
Ulster County resident Stephen E. Alvarez Jr., of Milton, was charged Tuesday, July 30, by the town of Hyde Park Police for the incident, which was reported on Friday, April 26.
According to Chief Robert Benson of the Hyde Park Police, in April, the department received a report from the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center regarding an underage teenager being sexually abused in the town of Hyde Park.

A man from the region is facing sexual assault charges after reportedly forcing his way through a door to reach his alleged victim.
Saratoga County resident Anthony Collins, age 42, of Ballston Spa, was arrested Saturday, June 8, on rape and related charges.
According to sheriff’s officials, deputies were called to a Milton home on Lilith Fair on Friday, June 7, for a sexual assault.
Investigators found that Collins pushed his way through a door, injuring the victim’s finger, before forcibly raping them, deputies said.
