A home intruder was stabbed after forcing his way into an Albany residence, hours after an unrelated knife attack outside a city bank.
Officers responded to a residence on Yates Street near Ontario Street for reports of a domestic disturbance at around 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, Albany Police said.
Investigators determined that Calibi McLeod, 27, of Albany, forced his way into the home, sparking a physical fight with the occupants, police said. During the confrontation, McLeod was stabbed in the chest and fled before officers arrived.

NY Daycare Worker Accused Of Abusing Boy For Years; More Victims Sought: Police
A man is accused of sexually abusing a child for years while employed at a Westbury daycare center, Nassau County police announced on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
Jose Rodriguez, 49, of Glen Cove, was charged after a victim reported that Rodriguez inappropriately touched him starting in 2016 when he was 10 years old, the Special Victims Squad said in a release.
The abuse allegedly continued until the boy was 13. On Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, Rodriguez walked into a Dunkin Donuts where the victim now works. After Rodriguez left the store, the victim contacted police, detectives said.

New Travel Advisory Issued By State Department For Mexico: Here's Why
The US State Department has issued updated travel guidance for one of America’s closest neighbors, citing a mix of safety risks for visitors.
The advisory that went live on Tuesday, Aug. 12 applies to Mexico, where officials say travelers should “exercise increased caution” because of threats that include terrorism, crime, and kidnapping.
It is classified as Level 2 on the agency’s four-tier alert system, which ranges from Level 1 (“exercise normal precautions”) to Level 4 (“do not travel”).
