A man from the region who was trapped underneath a vehicle after a parking lot crash was rescued by employees from a tow truck company and a police officer. The incident occurred in Sullivan County at 1:45 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the parking lot of Tilly's Diner at 34 Raceway Road in Monticello. According to Lt. Fatal Orange County Crash: 26-Year-Old ID'd As Victim
A two-vehicle crash in the region claimed the life of one person and injured another. The collision occurred in Orange County at 11:15 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, on Route 32 in Newburgh. According to the town of Newburgh Police Lt. Matthew Nadolny, a preliminary investigation determined that a 2007 Ford Econoline van, operated by Leonel Marquez-Martinez, age 36, of Wallkill, was traveling southbound on Route 32. 50-Year-Old Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash On Busy Road In Northern Westchester
A 50-year-old man was killed in a crash after his vehicle was struck by a vehicle on a busy Northern Westchester road, police said. The crash happened on Monday, Aug. 12 around 2:40 p.m., when a vehicle hit a motorcycle at the intersection of Stoneleigh Avenue and Route 202 in Somers, according to New York State Police. A preliminary investigation into the crash determined that a Mercedes-Benz driven by a 60-year-old woman from the Putnam County neighborhood of Kent Lakes had been traveling northeast on Route 202 when it tried turning left onto Stoneleigh Avenue. Van Plunges Into Lake In Hudson Valley
Firefighters had to ensure no hazardous fluids entered a Hudson Valley lake after a van plunged into it. The crash happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, July 30, when a van drove into Lake Mahopac on South Lake Boulevard, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department. After the incident, crews used hazardous material absorbent booms around the van to absorb any potential vehicle fluid leaks as it was removed from the water. The cause of the crash was not released.

Police are investigating a crash in which a boy was killed on a residential roadway in the Hudson Valley. It happened around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 in Rockland County.
