Area Woman Arrested For Burglary, Possession Of Pot, Police Say
An area woman was arrested for allegedly burglarizing a home and spitting and kicking a state trooper after she was caught inside a home she didn't own.
Jeanette Wright, age 32, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Saturday, March 6, after a state trooper responded to Stony Ford Road in Campbell Hall for a burglary in progress, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
When the trooper arrived, he spotted Wright inside the residence. When she came to a side door where the trooper met her Wright said she had entered the wrong house and attempted to walk away, Nevel said.

Palisades Interstate Parkway Pursuit Reaches Speeds Of 105 MPH, State Police Say
New York State Police arrested a man following a police high-speed pursuit when he fled during a routine traffic stop in Rockland County.
Trevor S. Calder, age 37, of the Bronx, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 7, after fleeing during an attempted traffic stop on the Palisades Parkway in the town of Stony Point, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
The incident began when a trooper patrolling the parkway spotted a 2014 BMW traveling west in violation of traffic laws. The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle and instead of pulling over, Calder fled, Nevel said.

Man, Woman Accused Of Breaking Into Area Home, Stealing Property
A man and woman were busted for burglary after they allegedly broke into a home in the area.
Edward Santiago, 37, and Isabel I. Negron, 37, both of Poughkeepsie, were arrested on Sunday, Oct. 6, in Highland by Town of Lloyd police after they allegedly broke into a home on Oakes Road and stole property, said Lloyd Police Lt. James Janso.
Santiago was charged with burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and unlawful possession of marijuana, Janso said.
Negron, 37, was charged with burglary, criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny, police said.

Two Wanted On Warrants Nabbed In Orangetown, Police Say
Two men wanted on active warrants were nabbed by Orangetown Police after fleeing from police.
Dexter Fisher, 26, of Nanuet, and Tyrone Stewart, 28, of Nyack, were arrested around 12:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20, on Franklin Street in Nyack, said Orangetown Det. Sgt. Thomas Holihan.
One of the men fled from police and was arrested after entering a nearby building, Holihan said.
Fisher was charged with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, unlawful possession of ammo feeding device, and unlawful possession of marijuana. He is being held at the Rockland County Jail.

Spring Valley Man Caught Stealing From ShopRite In Stony Point, Police Say
A 29-year-old man was allegedly caught stealing from the ShopRite store in Stony Point.
Kevin Michel, of Spring Valley, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 6, after Stony Point police received a report of a man shoplifting in ShopRite, said Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel J Hylas.
According to police, Michel was observed leaving the store with a handbasket containing stolen merchandise and then entered a vehicle.
Officers were able to stop the vehicle and Michel was found to have a suspended driver's license, Hylas said.

I-87 Stop Results In Drug Possession Charges For Man, 52
A man from Middletown is facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop on I-87, police say.
New York State Police say they stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the town of Woodbury for a traffic violation on Saturday, July 27 around 6:45 p.m.
The driver, identified as Luke Green, 52, of Godeffroy, was found to be intoxicated, police say.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately two grams of powder cocaine and .4 grams of marijuana in the possession of the passenger, identified as Philip Munoz, 47, of Middletown.

Visitors to a Sunoco gas station in Westchester might have done a double take if they happened to catch a view of a large naked man dancing in the parking lot.
The man, who police did not identify, but said was from Hobe Sound, Florida, was arrested around 10:10 p.m., on Tuesday, June 11, when officers responded to a 911 call from the gas station in the village of Mamaroneck at 540 Mamaroneck Ave., who reported a man was acting "erratically," said Mamaroneck Police Lt.
