Police are reportedly searching for a "person of interest" after a 19-year-old student from Long Island was fatally stabbed during an altercation outside a freshman dorm at the University of Buffalo. Tyler Lewis, of Baldwin in Nassau County, died during the incident that occurred Friday night, Oct. 14 at Moody Terrace roadway near Richmond Quad (Ellicott Complex) at the university's North Campus. A new employee who will later become the county's assistant district attorney was welcomed to Rockland County during a swearing-in ceremony. Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II welcomed Rosibel Ventura Almonte as she was sworn in by the Honorable Roselina Serrano, Village of West Haverstraw Justice on Wednesday, June 24, at the Rockland County Courthouse. Robert David VanVlack, who ran his own consulting business, died on Tuesday, July 2 at his home in Poughkeepsie. He was 39. He was born on Feb. 21, 1980 to Tammy and Robert Van Vlack.
