Tornado Confirmed After Severe Storms Batter Northeast
A fast-moving round of severe storms swept through the Northeast, spawning a rare tornado in New England and leaving a trail of downed trees, power outages, and canceled events in its wake.
The National Weather Service confirmed that the twister touched down in Holden, Massachusetts, located northwest of Worcester, late Saturday afternoon, Sept. 6, as part of an intense line of storms that moved across about a dozen states.
It was rated an EF-1 twister, the second weakest of the six levels on the Enhanced Fujita damage scale.

Day 4: Latest Update On Central Hudson Power Restoration In Dutchess
Nearly 85 percent of the 74,000 customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation impacted by Tuesday’s damaging storm have had power restored, following a restoration effort to clear trees, open roadways and repair the electric system.
Approximately 13,000 outages remain in nearly 400 individual damage locations, primarily in heavily impacted areas of southern Dutchess and northeast Orange counties, where excessive tree damage remains a concern.

Update On Central Hudson Customers In Dutchess Still Without Power
Electric service has been restored to approximately half the more than 74,000 customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation impacted by Tuesday’s powerful severe storm system.
As of 7 a.m. Thursday, approximately 37,000 customers remained without electric service in more than 425 individual damage locations, following a damaging storm that brought severe winds to the region, hitting hardest in the southern portion of Central Hudson’s service area.
