Nypd Officer From Westchester Who Just Ended Shift Killed In Crash With City Parks Truck A Westchester man has been identified as the off-duty NYPD officer who died Wednesday morning when he was involved in a head-on crash with a garbage truck. New Rochelle resident Brian Kessler, 28, was driving home from an overnight shift at 1 Police Plaza on Wednesday morning, Jan. 16 at approximately 8:20 a.m. when he struck a city Parks Department garbage truck on Shore Road in Pelham Bay. Man Killed After Car Crashes Into Tree A 68-year-old man killed during a single-vehicle crash has been identified. Alfredo Torres-Trinidad of Middletown was killed around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1 in a crash in Orange County, said New York State Police. According to police, Torres-Trinidad died at the scene after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a tree on Sarah Wells Trail, in Hamptonburgh.

Officers from the Ramapo Police Department responded to three separate crashes over the weekend, each of which involved a driver who was allegedly intoxicated. At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, officers responded to a three-car crash with injuries at the intersection of Route 202 and Route 306.  Investigation into the crash determined that a 23-year-old woman from Saddle River, N.J. was driving drunk, and she was arrested with aggravated DWI, driving while ability impaired by drugs…

ID Released For Man Killed In Route 45 Two-Car Crash The identity has been released of the man killed in early Sunday afternoon after a fatal two-car crash with injuries. Michael Benson, 41, from North Rockland died after his taxi was rear-ended near South Mountain Road by a man who worked as an Uber driver and then hit a tree on Route 45, police said. The Uber driver was not injured. No charges have been filed, but the crash remains under investigation. The closure of approximately five hours was between the Palisades Interstate Parkway and South Mountain Road.

Man, 33, Killed In Route 17 Two-Car Crash A 33-year-old man was killed during a two-vehicle crash on Route 17 on Tuesday evening. The crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. in the town of Thompson, said New York State Trooper Steve Nevel. A 1993 pickup truck was heading westbound on Route 207 (Little Britain Road) in the area of the Rock Tavern Post New Windsor and crossed into the eastbound lane and stuck a 2012 Toyota Camry at approximately 11:22 p.m., police said. Injuries Reported In Rockland School Bus Crash Two drivers suffered injuries after a car and school bus collided in Rockland County. Ramapo police said the crash occurred around 9:10 a.m. Monday in the area of 399 Route 306 in the Village of Wesley Hills.  The school bus was not occupied by students and both the driver of the bus and the other vehicle sustained minor injuries, police said. Route 306 was closed while the vehicles were removed but has reopened.

The driver of the sedan was treated for non life-threatening injuries at the scene -- the intersection of Ackerman Avenue and Bellair Road.
