Separate Rounds Of Storms Knock Out Power In Westchester
Only a few days after a freakish storm system brought historic flooding to the Hudson Valley, severe weather is unleashing more destruction, resulting in over 10,000 people being left without power as of late Friday morning, July 14.
The outages were caused by several rounds of severe thunderstorms that arrived in the region on Thursday night, July 13, and continued into Friday, bringing downpours, gusty winds in excess of 55 miles per hour, and even one-inch hail in some cases, according to the National Weather Service.

2 In Serious Condition After Being Struck By Car In Region
Two men from the region are in serious condition after being struck by a car while standing on the side of a roadway in the region.
The crash took place in Sullivan County around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 29 on Route 17 in the town of Thompson.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Toyota Sienna was disabled on the right shoulder of the roadway, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
Two passengers in the vehicle, Levi Mann, age 69, of Liberty, and William Mann, age 20, from Cochecton, stepped outside of the vehicle and were standing in a grassy area next to the shoulder when a man lost control …
Restaurant Burglary: 3 From Region Nabbed By Surveillance Video, Police Say
Three men from the region have been charged with the burglary of a popular deli and grill following an investigation.
The three, all Sullivan County residents, from Monticello, were arrested on Sunday, June 18 by the Monticello Police for the burglary at the NY Deli and Grill at 17 Liberty St. in Monticello.
The burglary took place on Saturday, June 10, said Lt. Mark Johnstone, of the Monticello Police.
An investigation revealed that at around 11:35 p.m., Leonard Jacobs, age 41, used a piece of asphalt to break the front door window of the restaurant, Johnstone said.

Woman Airlifted To Westchester Medical Center After Crash Between Car, Tractor-Trailer
A Hudson Valley woman was seriously injured following a crash with a tractor-trailer.
The crash took place in Orange County around 11:15 a.m., Thursday, June 1 in the town of Newburgh.
According to Lt, Peter Talarico, of the town of Newburgh Police, officers on the scene found an accident involving a 2008 Infinity and a 2002 tractor-trailer.
