Expect Delays: Road Closures Planned During Weekend Celebration In Hudson Valley Town
Authorities in the Hudson Valley are advising motorists to expect delays and road closures ahead of an event over the weekend. The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said the Pleasant Valley Weekend Celebration, which is set to take place from Friday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 18, will cause some road closures in the area. On Saturday, Sept. 17, closures and delays are expected between 10 a.m. and noon due to a bike ride sponsored by the Pleasant Valley Lions Club. Police Search For Suspect In Burglary At Popular Area Eatery
New York State Police investigators are seeking information as they attempt to locate a suspect who was caught on camera burglarizing a popular area restaurant. An investigation was launched by State Police in Poughkeepsie on Tuesday, Dec. 31, following a commercial burglary at Fireside Barbecue & Grill on Salt Point Turnpike in Pleasant Valley. Bobcat Enters Residence After Attacking Dog In Area
A bobcat ran inside an area home after it attacked a family dog, causing wildlife officials to euthanize the animal. The incident took place in Pleasant Valley around 6:55 a.m. early Sunday, June 23, when Dutchess County Sheriff's deputies responded to the home at 1263 Salt Point Turnpike for a report of a bobcat inside a residence, said Dutchess County Sheriff's Capt. Construction On Salt Point Turnpike Bridge Over Wappinger Creek Starts
The construction project on Salt Point Turnpike Bridge over Wappinger Creek is officially underway as of Tuesday, April 16, the New York State Department of Transportation says. The $3.2 million project is intended to improve safety and mobility. It will replace the bridge over Wappinger Creek in the hamlet of Salt Point, Town of Pleasant Valley, Dutchess County.
