Traffic Alert: Lane Reductions Expected Along I-84 In Hudson Valley Commuters should note that a section of I-84 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. The New York State Department of Transportation is advising Dutchess County motorists that I-84 between Exit 44 (Route 52) in the Town of Fishkill and Exit 46 (Route 9) in the Town of East Fishkill, Mondays through Saturdays, beginning Monday, Aug. 12, through Monday, Sept. 30, between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For up-to-date travel information, call 511, or visit www.511NY.org.

Part Of Busy Hudson Valley Road To Close For Months: Here's Where Part of a well-traveled Hudson Valley road near its intersection with a busy highway will close for several weeks as crews replace a culvert, officials announced.  Beginning on Monday, July 15, part of Route 311 in the Putnam County town of Patterson will close between the Interstate 84 Exit 61 on and off ramps and Ludingtonville Road (Route 43), according to the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services. Lane Closures Scheduled For I-84 Stretch Weekday lane closures are planned for a stretch of I-84 counties, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. The NYSDOT issued an advisory stating that there will be single-lane closures eastbound and westbound on I-84 in Putnam and Dutchess counties between Exit 44 (Route 52) in East Fishkill and Exit 65 (Route 312) in the town of Southeast, weekdays beginning Monday, June 14 through approximately Friday, June 25. Closures are scheduled for between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays, weather permitting. During the closures, motorists can expect delays in the area.

Single-Lane Closure Scheduled On Route 208 Lane closures have been scheduled in both directions on Route 208 for several weeks in Orange County. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert warning that beginning on Monday, Oct. 21, there will be lane closures on Route 208 in Montgomery to allow construction crews to perform highway maintenance work. The closures will be daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Bradley Lane and Route 52 through Friday, Dec. 1. During the project, motorists in the area can expect delays and have been advised to seek alternate routes, when possible.

I-84 Stretch Reopens After Crash This story has been updated. A stretch of I-84 has reopened following a serious crash. Both westbound lanes were shut down east of the Taconic State Parkway (Exit 16) between the Route 52 overpass and Exit 16, following the crash, which occurred just before 1 p.m. Sunday, June 23. The lanes reopened at around 1:30 p.m.

The family has set a goal of $2,500 for funeral expenses. By Wednesday morning, nearly twice that amount has been raised.
