Southwest Airlines is grounding one of its most famous perks, marking a major shift in its identity after more than five decades. Southwest will no longer offer free checked bags for all passengers, the company said in a news release on Tuesday, Mar. 11. Westchester-Based IBM Denies Reports Of Redeploying Some Staffers
IBM, which is headquartered in the Hudson Valley, is pushing back on reports it plans to reassign 30 percent of its Global Technology Services staff through attrition. The Armonk-based company said the report, which said the company hired a consulting firm to help with the strategy, was not accurate and they don't comment on speculation, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. The company, which is headquartered in Armonk, saw revenue decline .4 percent in its latest quarterly report, the 22nd consecutive quarter of year over year declines. Profits fell 4.5 percent to $2.73 billion.
