Drive-In Fireworks Night Scheduled At PCU Park In Rockland Despite the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) canceling many fun summer activities, some lucky residents will get a chance to enjoy a fireworks show a couple of weeks before July 4. In Rockland County, the New York Boulders will host the show on Saturday, June 20, following a performance by local musical group Nash at Palisades Credit Union Park in Pomona. Person Infected With Measles Visited Palisades Mall, Health Department Says Thousands of holiday shoppers may have been exposed to the measles after a resident infected with the measles visited several stores and restaurants in addition to the Palisades Mall. Duo Stole $1.2K In Merchandise From Palisades Mall Lord & Taylor, Police Say Two men were nabbed with more than $1,000 in goods allegedly stolen from the Lord & Taylor at the Palisades Mall in West Nyack. The men, both from Queens, were arrested after Clarkstown police responded to the mall for a report of shoplifting, said Clarkstown Police Det. Sgt. Peter Walker. Students From China Visit Rockland Rockland received some special visitors recently as students from China visited County Executive Ed Day. Day welcomed students from China on Friday, Aug. 10 who are visiting the area from the Mei Han of Blue Sky Educational Services, which provides students with “an opportunity to experience American culture.” During their visit, the students took a tour of local government buildings, visited the Palisades Mall, Bear Mountain State Park and Harriman State Park. They also made stops at some Rockland County historical sites, including the DeWint House, Harmony Hall and the 76’ House.
