2 Hudson Valley Residents Charged After Threatening Person With Gun, Machete
A Hudson Valley man and woman were charged with possession of a weapon and menacing after allegedly threatening a person with a gun and a machete. The incident took place in Orange County around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8 in Newburgh on Timber Ridge Road. According to Lt. Peter Talarico of the Newburgh Police, a verbal argument broke between the man and woman and victim when the man pulled out a machete threatened the victim, and hit their car with the weapon as they were leaving. Standoff: Man Held Woman Against Will In Apartment In Westchester, Police Say
After several hours of negotiations, a man surrendered to police after holding a woman against her will in a Westchester County apartment, authorities said. The incident started in the early morning of Friday, Feb. 10, around 3 a.m., when distressed family members told Mount Vernon Police that a woman was being held against her will at 29 East 4th St. and had sent concerning text messages about the situation. A 37-year-old armed with a rifle is fatally shot himself after a domestic dispute resulted in a standoff with responding officers. At about 10:43 p.m. on Friday, July 20, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded to 208 Old Route 22 in the Town of Amenia for a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute involving a man in possession of a firearm.
